On Friday, November 2, CCU's School of Music invites the community to our Fall Wind Ensemble concert, an evening of symphonic band music under the direction of Professor Mark Dorn. This concert will present a wide range of contemporary and standard works for band, including the world premiere of a new composition, "Fragrant," by Dr. Garrett Hope, CCU alumnus and visiting assistant professor at Ursinus College in Pennsylvania. This is the first piece ever commissioned for band by the CCU School of Music, and is based on the gospel account of the woman and her extravagant gift of perfumed oil poured out at the feet of Jesus. The Wind Ensemble is the premiere instrumental ensemble at CCU, with various performances throughout the year, and an annual tour and recording.
You may purchase tickets online or at the door. Tickets are free for CCU students and alumni, $10 for adults, $5 for children and seniors, and $25 for an immediate family.
