Tango CEO and National Wrestling Hall of Famer to Speak at 2008 Jefferson County Prayer Breakfast

Colorado Christian University invites the Denver-area business community to attend the annual Jefferson County Prayer Breakfast on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, from 6:45-8:15 a.m. at the Belmar Event Center in Lakewood, Colorado.

In the spirit of the National Prayer Breakfast, held annually in Washington, D.C. since 1952, the Jefferson County Prayer Breakfast is an opportunity for community members to share a meal and join in prayer for America's local, state, and national leaders. As this year's host, CCU and its students teamed with local citizens to sponsor the event.

This year's featured speaker is Scott Beck, founder and CEO of Tango, a private investment firm that partners with visionary for-profit and nonprofit growth organizations to help fulfill the Tango mission to "glorify God by serving families." Beck has over 20 years of experience in the formation and management of high-profile companies, helping them develop strong brand recognition and leading market positions. He previously served as vice chairman and chief operating officer of Blockbuster, Inc. (formerly Blockbuster Entertainment Corp.), in 1992 founded and served as chairman and CEO of Boston Market (formerly Boston Chicken, Inc.), and four years later became founder and chairman of Einstein and Noah Corporation.

Outside of the office, Beck also focuses his time and efforts on helping others. In 1991, he established the Bowana Foundation, a nonprofit organization with a mission "to help build healthy and loving families through changed lives." He is a former chairman of the board of trustees for Pennsylvania's Westminster College and a longtime member of the board for the Denver Area Council of Boy Scouts of America. He also has longstanding relationships with FamilyLife Ministries and Campus Crusade for Christ.

A former wrestler, Beck was the team leader of the 2000 U.S. Olympic wrestling team and is a board member of U.S.A. Wrestling and a member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Tickets to the November 12 Jefferson County Prayer Breakfast are $15 per person. Registration ends on November 10.
