This month officials at Colorado
Christian University announced the renewal of the School of Music as a member of
the National Association of Schools of Music. Of music schools across the nation
that applied for renewal, CCU was among only 20 percent accepted by NASM's
highly selective Commission on Accreditation.
NASM is considered the
premier body for establishing national standards for undergraduate and graduate
music degrees and other credentials, and the Commission is held in high regard
for its extensive accreditation process based on a peer review by seasoned music
educators.
CCU's accreditation kicked into high gear last November
when the Commission voted to continue its membership, leaning primarily on the
University's thorough and thoughtful recent self-study.
Founded in
1924, NASM is comprised of schools, conservatories, colleges, and universities
with approximately 630 accredited institutional members. Visit
