Dr. Dennis Ondrejka is the Director of Nursing Programs where he supports Dr. White with the administrative needs of the nursing division. His primary focus is on the building of new programs within the nursing division as well as working with faculty to strengthen the current programs. Dr. Ondrejka has over 15 years of clinical experience in emergency rooms, medical units, and in occupational health settings taking care of the staff or employees at General Motors, National Jewish Hospital, Children’s Hospitals, and more. He is a Clinical Specialist in Nursing (CNS) in the fields of community and occupational health nursing.
Dr. Ondrejka has been on faculty at the University of Utah, Regis University, Denver School of Nursing, along with being affiliate faculty at various universities for more than 15 years. He most recently came from the Exempla Hospital System where he was co-creating a Shared Governance program for the nursing division of Lutheran Medical Center. He is a National speaker and conducts workshops on topics of “The Patient Experience;” “Emotional & Social Intelligence;” “Relationship Based Care and Being Present;” “Building Your Mission for Christ;” and much more. Dr. Ondrejka will have a book out in 2013 on Affective Teaching Methods in Nursing by Springer Publishing, which he plans to use for additional workshops that will texturize and deepen the learning experience for students.
