B.A.   Youth Ministry

Hometown: Vicksburg, Michigan

As soon as I found out about CCU, I knew that I couldn't go anywhere else. The community makes CCU a perfect place to grow closer to God, we have a great Youth Ministry program, and there's nothing better than being right between Denver and the mountains.

I have two favorite things about CCU. First, the location - It was really exciting to venture out on my own, being so far away from home. Second, and most importantly, CCU is a safe place to really focus on your relationship with God alongside other Christians that are trying to seek God at the same time. My favorite class so far was the National Youth Workers Convention. Our 'classes' consisted of a week in California to listen to a bunch of speakers and musicians and network with tons of people in youth ministry.

It's impossible to look outside and not see evidence that God exists, and I'm constantly surrounded by opportunities to run after God. Through the people, the ministry opportunities, the classes, and the experiences that God brought into my life at CCU, I realized that I had grown up in a Christian environment but never truly surrendered my life to Christ. Here I learned how to be genuine instead of going through the motions.

I absolutely love going into Morrison and exploring the mountains and streams around that area, and I love going to all the different parks in Denver and Lakewood. But really if I'm with my friends, any place in Colorado is amazing!
