All Business Administration majors complete a business core curriculum that includes a course from each of the following functional areas of business. An emphasis in one or more of the following areas will provide students with advanced courses designed to give them additional expertise in those areas.
The Accounting Emphasis introduces students to all aspects of the accounting industry including financial accounting and reporting, auditing and attestation, and regulation. CCU's unique accounting curriculum also challenges students to integrate faith into the learning process, giving them a strong ethical and moral foundation that will make them a valuable asset in the workforce.
The Computer Information Systems Emphasis combines professional training with foundational knowledge about computer information systems. It is designed to give students an enhanced understanding of the field of computer information systems (CIS), enterprise software, and computer applications that will enable them to manage technical people and functions.
The fast-paced world of finance is experiencing tremendous growth as a result of the increasing number of businesses as well as new regulations that have increased scrutiny of company finances. The Finance Emphasis prepares students to enter the field of business equipped with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills that will lead to success in the financial aspects of business.
Most Business Administration majors will be involved in the management of people and other resources necessary for the success of the organization. Therefore, all business majors are required to take a basic core management course. Those who choose the Management Emphasis will take additional advanced courses in management and organizational theory, human resource management, and managerial communication.
The Marketing Emphasis is designed to give students special education and skills that will allow them to make an immediate contribution in the marketing department of a company or in the field of advertising and marketing management.
The Project Management Emphasis leads to a Project Management Certificate. Students will develop skills related to strategic management, project-based teamwork, risk reduction, and budget analysis. The certificate coursework will emphasize practical application and implementation in real-world business situations, with integration of social and ethical implications throughout.
