General Education Requirements

"We envision graduates who think critically and creatively, lead with high ethical and professional standards, embody the character and compassion of Jesus Christ, and who thereby are prepared to impact the world."

Colorado Christian University Vision Statement

Why Choose a Christian Liberal Arts Education?

Colorado Christian University's Vision Statement reflects our desire to help shape complete individuals. That's why your educational experience will be all about shaping and developing a "whole" person – academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

At CCU, you will be immersed in a Liberal Arts-based education with a Christian worldview that will expose you to the world like you've never seen it before.

All students are required to take 50+ credit hours of general education courses that serve to lay a foundation for their education and future interaction with the world. Students will be introduced to history and the social sciences, communication, arts and humanities, mathematics, scientific thought, integrative studies, and biblical studies, giving them an extensive knowledge base within a Christian framework. CCU students learn these disciplines through application, experience, introspection, theory, and service.

Be prepared to be challenged, changed, encouraged, stretched, and strengthened. You will leave Colorado Christian University prepared to enter the "real world', prepared to make a difference, and prepared to live a life worthy of a higher calling.

General Education Honors Emphasis

The General Education Honors Emphasis is directed toward Trustees’ and President’s Scholarship recipients. The Honors Emphasis consists of advanced courses of study that include readings of original documents attendant to the founding of the United States, field trips to state and local government offices, primary source material, debates, and guest speakers who are experts in the pertinent field of study.
