Communication

"It is insight into human nature that is the key to the communicator's skill. For whereas the writer is concerned with what he puts into his writing, the communicator is concerned with what the reader gets out of it."

William Bernbach, legendary figure in American Advertising (1911-1982)

Why Communication?

The Communication degree at Colorado Christian University provides students with experience in public speaking and debate while studying communication processes in various contexts including interpersonal communication, group dynamics, public speaking, nonverbal and written communication, cross-cultural communication, and media. Communication majors also explore communication styles of influential leaders throughout the course of history – learning from their examples. Much attention is given to learning how to apply communication theories and skills to different areas of life and future career opportunities.

Communication in the Christian University

Communication is one of the oldest, most versatile academic disciplines. Effective communicators are effective leaders. Just look at Jesus’ example. The Communication major at CCU equips students with a range of communication skills that are vital to every career and to life in general. Many of CCU’s communication graduates have gone on to successfully complete graduate degrees, or are working in business, public relations, ministry and even acting! Virtually every organization, every business, every discipline involves a crucial element of communication so learning to do it effectively can provide a distinct advantage in helping you find a job … and in succeeding on the job.
