The Music Theory and Songwriting emphasis provides students of any major with study of music theory and history, as well as ear training and lessons in composing lyrics and music. Original musical pieces are in high demand in a culture immersed in audio, and the Music Theory/Songwriting emphasis trains you to create compelling and musically complex works, focusing on skills necessary for a foundation in songwriting.
