Outdoor Leadership
"Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson, American essayist, philosopher, and poet (1803-1882)
The Outdoor Leadership minor at Colorado Christian University is designed to support many fields of study as a portfolio-builder of knowledge, technical skills, and character qualities that will fully complement the Liberal Arts philosophy and education. You'll gain life skills in leadership, sound decision making, flexibility, creative problem solving, and relationships that will build on the training you're receiving in the classroom.
You pay the same tuition whether you take 12 credit hours or 18; why not round out your education by taking a few outdoor classes, learning in God's great outdoors, and testing your limits in new ways?Outdoor Leadership In the Christian University
The wilderness has always been a place where God calls, refines, and
prepares leaders. You will not return as the same person. The Outdoor
Leadership minor builds on the Christ-centered education you're
receiving in the classroom, trains you in a variety of outdoor skills
and disciplines, and equips you to become a mature and effective leader
in your church, career, community, and family. You'll be challenged to
grow in your faith by integrating biblical concepts into the
experiential learning process that occurs in the great outdoors!
Outdoor leadership is a chance to experience creation, deepen your
faith, develop profound friendships, and push yourself further than you
thought you could go. The OUL requires 18 credit hours of course work;
whether you earn the entire Outdoor Leadership minor or take a few
courses to better enjoy Colorado, you will find yourself closer to your
Savior and Creator while rising to new heights—literally and
figuratively.
