English

Throughout the Secondary English Education Teacher Preparation Program students explore the various genres and rich heritage of English Literature and develop advanced skills in creative and expository writing, interpretation and literary criticism, listening, and oral communication. History

Throughout the Secondary History Education Teacher Preparation Program students develop a broad understanding of religious, American, European, and nonwestern history and gain a Christian perspective of history. The History subject focus will prepare you to teach Social Studies, History, Geography, and/or American Government to middle and high school students. Mathematics

Throughout the Secondary Mathematics Education Teacher Preparation Program students examine the relationship between applications, problem solving, and mathematics theory – helping students develop analytical skills and effective problem-solving abilities. The Mathematics subject focus will prepare you to teach Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and/or Trigonometry to middle and high school students. Science

Throughout the Secondary Science Education Teacher Preparation Program students gain a foundation of knowledge in biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, and mathematics. Students have the unique opportunity to explore the relationship between faith and science in a university classroom setting. The Science subject focus will prepare you to teach Biology, Chemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and/or Physics to middle and high school students.
