Social Science

"Education in Social Science develops the mental ability to move rapidly from one problem to another, to change frames of reference, to apply knowledge from radically different domains to practical problems. Employers are now looking for this kind of intellectual nimbleness and for keen, analytical problem-solving ability."

T-Homer-Dixon, Chair of Peace and Conflict Studies and Professor of Political Science - University of Toronto (b. 1956)

Why Social Science

The Social Science degree at Colorado Christian University is designed to develop your knowledge and skills in history, political science, economics, sociology, psychology, anthropology, international studies, and geography. Upon finishing their degree program, CCU Social Science majors are prepared for law school, government service, graduate school, and teaching social studies in middle or secondary school.

Social Science in the Christian University

Does the world of politics make you tick? Do you want to better understand the foundation of the American political process? Are you interested in studying customs and practices of other cultures? Social Science majors at CCU are challenged to not only be informed about what’s going on in the world, but to truly care about it being equipped with the love of Christ. They're trained to analyze government systems and to think critically about cultural development. The different Social Science emphases allow students to tailor a program in their area of interest.

Social Science Emphases

Students who major in Social Science may select one of the following emphases: Global Studies, History, or Psychology. In each of these functional areas, students learn the latest in theory and practice with the added value of learning how to integrate faith, learning, and living.
