Jo Leda Martin

Associate Director of Admissions for Market Relations

Jo Leda MartinHometown: Lakewood, Colorado (I’m a born and bred Coloradoan!)

Education: B.A. in Communication/Public Relations with a double minor in Business and Fine Art, Regis University

Favorite Verse:  It is so hard to pick my favorite Scripture or verse, as I love reading the Word and I find that no matter what I am experiencing in life, the Lord has something to say to me, to impress upon my heart. But, the two that really form as guide posts for me are "Be still and know that I am God," (Psalm 46:10) and "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." (1 Peter 3:15). As a crazy busy working soccer mom of three amazing kids, I find that I need to just STOP and breathe in the Lord’s presence – just remind myself that He is with me, and has blessed control. And, the other verse prompts me to always be present and accountable to the Kingdom, to be prepared to share my Lord with others, to never mislead and to try to always be transparent so that the Lord can shine through what I say, what I do, and who I am.

Hobbies: My kids! I have a great husband (of 20 years) who teaches 8th grade at a Christian school, and we have two sons, 12 and 9, and a daughter we adopted from China who is 6. Between all of them, they have a million and one different interests, activities, and passions, and it is all I can do to keep up. I am interested in picking up a new hobby that I’ve heard about, if I can find time for it: sleep. I love it, but I don’t get much of it!

Why I came to CCU: Rather than why I "came" to CCU, I just felt overwhelmingly "led" to this amazing university. From the moment I stepped on campus at a student event that I attended, I was hooked. You can just feel the Lord move on this campus, and I wanted more than anything to be a part of His work here, to serve His kingdom in any way I could here at CCU. It is unmistakable that God has a special plan for this university, and for every student He brings here. And, I get to be a part of that; to pray for it alongside students, faculty and staff, to work for it, serve Him in it, experience it, and take it all in as the Lord reveals Himself and makes it happen! It is the ground on which He will build dynamic, authentic, and passionate leaders for His Kingdom. I am deeply grateful to play even a small part in what the Lord has planned at CCU.
