Kristen Rodriguez

Assistant Director of Enrollment and Communications

Hometown: El Paso, Texas (love being on the border!)

Education: B.A. Communication, Emphasis in Drama Ministry; Colorado Christian University

Favorite Verse:  "Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever…it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds."  Psalm 73:25-26,28

Hobbies: My "happy place" is the car wash, with a Dairy Queen blizzard in hand and fun music in the background. Hobbies include sand volleyball, being in the mountains, reading any A.W. Tozer book, playing a game of spades or speed solitaire, waxing eyebrows for those in need of help, and watching movies with a KING size box of Hot Tamales…all of which I love doing with my family and close friends.

My favorite thing about being a student at CCU: There are so many opportunities to get involved in activities, ministries, and leadership programs. I had the privilege of living with eight girls in a Women’s Discipleship & Accountability House. One of my greatest passions is to be involved in women’s ministry—mentoring and discipling young women who desire to know God in a deeper, more intimate way. Living right across the street from the Men’s Accountability House, we were able to have dinners, fun outings, and worship nights that created memories I will always hold close to my heart. From pranks to late night talks about everyday struggles, we were able to just do life together.

Discipleship and ministry can be messy at times, but the end result, by the grace of God, is a transformed heart, a deeper understanding of growing in the likeness of Christ, and a realization that community was God’s idea for a specific purpose. The Woman’s Discipleship & Accountability House will always be one of the highlights of my CCU experience.
