Transfer Students

College of Undergraduate Studies

CCU’s College of Undergraduate Studies is looking for students who demonstrate a strong academic career and exemplify a vital Christian experience, personal integrity, and a desire for Christ-centered community. Generally speaking, transfer students (students who have taken 15 or more college credits after graduating from high school) are expected to have at least a 2.8 GPA and a 20 ACT composite score or equivalent SAT score. Students who do not meet these criteria are still considered for admission on a case by case basis, and factors such as essay content, recommendation content, and extracurricular activity all contribute to an individual admission decision.

The University is committed to assisting transfer students throughout the admission and decision process in order to ensure the transfer process is as smooth as possible. We encourage you to apply for admission and visit our campus so you can see what the CCU experience is all about.

Admission Steps

  1. Complete your application for admission and submit the non-refundable application fee. You can start the process by applying online now.
  2. Request official transcripts from each college or university you have attended. You may use the Institutional Transcript Request Form (PDF) for this purpose. Transfer students who have completed fewer than 15 semester hours of college coursework must also submit high school transcripts.
  3. Applicants who have completed fewer than 15 semester hours of college coursework must also submit their official ACT or SAT scores. The ACT Web site provides extensive information and services for the ACT Assessment, including online registration, test preparation, and a score report ordering system.
  4. Request that a Spiritual Recommendation form (PDF) be completed by a pastor, youth pastor, mentor, or an individual that can testify to your relationship with Jesus Christ. CCU does not accept recommendations from family members.

An admission decision will be made when all application materials are received. Please contact your enrollment counselor if you have questions or would like to talk to someone about transferring to CCU.

Transferring Credit and Applying for Financial Aid

Your transcripts will be evaluated by the Service Central office as soon as your application is processed and you have been fully accepted. Each transfer student receives an individual credit evaluation. For credits to be accepted, a course must be assigned a grade of C- or better. The course must be transferred from an institution that is accredited either by a regional accrediting association or by a nationally recognized accrediting agency or association, such as the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges. The course must also be a relevant or equivalent course required for the student's program of study. Please talk with your enrollment counselor about the estimated number of credits which will transfer to CCU.

To apply for financial aid, you need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Remember that priority deadline for financial aid awarding at CCU is March 1. For specific information on scholarships, grants, and loans for transfer students at CCU, please see the financial aid Web site.
