Achieving Excellence

The Cougar Athletics program at Colorado Christian University is an NCAA Division II affiliated program committed to the integration of faith and learning as part of the overall student experience. As the only evangelical Christian university in an eight-state region, CCU's desire is for student-athletes and staff to develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and share that relationship with others.

CCU Athletics places a high value on the mentoring process and the integration of faith in sport so that in all things, we accomplish our mission: “To glorify God by following his guidance in transforming lives through discipleship, academic accountability, and excellence in intercollegiate athletics.” This mission statement also reflects our commitment to excellence. We represent our University and Jesus Christ well when we perform to a level worthy of our opponents.

We also place a high value on the academic success of our athletes; our goal is for the average grade point average of our student-athletes to meet or exceed that of the general student body.

Through the challenges of competition, our athletes have the opportunity to develop character traits of courage, discipline, endurance, leadership, teamwork, faith, and dependability. Such traits are vital to the future success of our churches, communities, businesses, and government. With your support, we can nurture the development of our programs and our student-athletes so that both may profoundly impact the community.
