Brooke CarriganThe accomplishments speak for themselves. After joining the Cougars in the fall of 1998, Brooke helped elevate Cougar Women’s Basketball into the national spotlight, while single-handedly rewriting the CCU record books. In a four year period, Carrigan racked up three All-RMAC First Team Awards, two All-Region nods, the 1998 RMAC’s Freshman of the Year Award, and was named a Division II Bulletin All-American as a junior.
She ranks atop the CCU record books in nearly every significant category, including: 1st all-time single season points, single season field goals made and attempted, 1st in single season free throws made and attempted, and 2nd all-time in single season 3-point percentage. Carrigan ranks 1st all-time at CCU in career points scored and made field goals, 1st all-time in career 3-point field goal percentage and 3-point field goals made, 1st all-time in career free throws made and attempted, 2nd in career rebounds, and 3rd all-time in career field goal percentage.
Following a wildly successful career as a Cougar, Brooke took her skills to the next level, playing professionally in both Germany and the Netherlands. Returning stateside, Brooke exchanged her uniform for a clipboard as she now serves as an assistant coach at Division I Furman University.
Tammy WishardA three sport athlete and one of the most talented individuals to ever wear a CCU uniform, Tammy Wishard joined the Cougars in the fall of 1995. Tammy’s combination of speed, skill, and unmatched endurance earned her a spot as one of only three freshman starters on a very competitive Women’s Soccer team. In her first year as a collegiate athlete, Tammy notched a team-high five goals and seven assists, while earning First Team All-Conference and the Colorado Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year Award.
Over the course of her career, Wishard would go on to earn four first team all-conference nods, while ranking 1st all-time at CCU in single season points, 2nd in single season goals, 2nd in single season assists, 1st in career points, 1st in career assists, and 2nd all-time for career goals scored.
When not dominating opponents on the soccer field, Wishard secured a spot in the regular rotation for the CCU Women’s Basketball team and even ran Cross Country during her senior year, where she won first place in an RMAC event hosted at Kent-Denver.
An avid runner, Tammy recently qualified and competed in both the Chicago and Boston Marathons. Wishard is now entering her fifth season as head coach for the CCU Women’s Soccer team.
Dave FosterA former CCU Athletic Director and coach with the most wins in the history of Cougar Women’s Volleyball, Dave Foster joined CCU Athletics in 1990.
During his stay with the Cougars, Dave guided CCU Women’s Volleyball into the national spotlight, notching a total of 148 wins, garnering an impressive .530 winning percentage, and leading the Cougars to their first ever National Top 25 appearance. He racked up five consecutive winning seasons and set the CCU record for most wins in a season (24) in 1994. Foster’s 1996 team holds the CCU record for the highest national ranking at the NCAA Division II level, when the team peaked at 16th in the AVCA polls.
As a Cougar, Dave coached 13 all-conference players and three Northwest Regional Players, while serving on the Colorado Athletic Conference’s Chairman of Coaches committee from 1993-1995. After an eight-year stint at the helm of CCU volleyball, Foster took the reigns as CCU Athletic Director from 1998-2000.
