Head Coach David Daniels took the helm of the Cougar Men's Basketball program in the fall of 2005.
A two-time All Conference athlete at CCU, Dave was named 1993 Conference Most Valuable Player, ranked second nationally in assists and helped lead his team to two CAC titles. After graduation Daniels spent time with two CBA teams and with the Rocky Mountain Review Summer Nuggets team, before joining Athletes in Action in 1994.
Dave's experience as a player culminated in the 1998 World Championships and in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, where he represented Canada on their national team. Daniels served as an assistant coach for the Cougars in 1996, in addition to six years as a head coach for Athletes in Action.
In 2004 Daniels was inducted into the CCU Hall of Fame.
Brandon Nicol enters his second year as head assistant for Cougar Men’s Basketball.
Nicol’s college career began in 1999 as a walk-on with Big 12 powerhouse Iowa State. In only his freshmen season, Brandon was a member of what could be considered the best team in Cyclone history. The 1999-2000 squad won both the Big 12 regular season and tournament championship before advancing all the way to the Elite Eight in Ann Arbor Michigan.
In four seasons with Iowa State, Brandon racked up two Big 12 Championships, the Mr. Hustle Award (2000), the Brian Pearson Inspiration Award (2001-2002), and three ISU Athletic Council Academic Awards.
Nicol is fresh off a tour with Athletes in Action where he competed against top talents both on the east coast and internationally in England.
Brandon resides in Lakewood with his wife Jill.
