Tammy Wishard is beginning her seventh season as head coach for the women’s soccer team.
In 2008, Wishard guided the women's soccer team to a NCCAA Regional Championship and CCU's first-ever appearance in the NCCAA National Finals.
Wishard’s history with CCU Athletics dates back to 1995, when as a three sport sensation, she punished opponents in soccer, basketball and cross country.
For her efforts on the soccer field, Wishard garnered the 1995 Conference Newcomer of the Year award, and by her senior year had racked up four First Team All RMAC selections. During her career as a Cougar, Wishard single handedly re-wrote the record books, positioning herself either first or second, in no less than six statistical categories.
Coach Wishard has her National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) National, Advanced National and Premier Diplomas.
In addition to her role with CCU soccer, Wishard is an avid runner and recently qualified and competed in the prestigious Chicago and Boston Marathons.
A native of Lakewood, Colorado, Coach Sprunger enters her second season as assistant coach for the CCU women’s soccer team.
Prior to joining CCU Athletics, Sprunger attended Biola University in southern California, where she was a four year letterman for the Eagles.
While at Biola, Sprunger helped the Eagles to a top-25 national ranking and an impressive top-eight finish in the NAIA National Tournament. As a senior, Sprunger received the Eagle Award, an honor which was presented by her teammates and recognizes excellence in character and athletics.
Following graduation, Sprunger spent one year in Russia, where she studied the language and ministered to the women and children of war-torn areas.
Sprunger is married and currently resides in Lakewood with her husband Ben.
