Best of ColoradoThe Best of Colorado program offers CCU students a variety of recreational trips in Colorado’s great outdoors. From whitewater rafting to urban cycling; from horseback riding to camping; these excursions are designed to help you explore and appreciate God’s creation while encouraging you to build solid friendships with other students. All trips are planned by current CCU students who have had plenty of guiding experience in the outdoors. Faculty and staff advisors tag along to enjoy these recreational opportunities with students.

Best of Colorado trips at CCU are not just for people who live for extreme outdoor adventure. Whether you’re passionate about skiing, biking, hiking, camping, or you’ve never even put on a pair of hiking boots, these trips offer all students the chance to experience faith through adventure, fellowship, and recreational activity. Best of Colorado Trips for Spring 2008*

January 12– Ice Skating
Register by: January 5

(New students ONLY)
Join other new students for an afternoon of skating as part of Winter Welcome! Located at the Ice Center and Promenade in Westminster, Colorado.
Cost: $10 (Includes skate rental)or $5 (bring your own skates)

January 26 – Snow Shoeing
Register by: January 19

Snowshoeing, long a popular winter sport in Colorado is the perfect way to discover the joys and wonders of the winter backcountry.
Cost: $20

February 2 – Dog Sledding
Register by: January 26

Try this unique and exciting sport with the help of professional guides, and glide across Colorado's snow-covered wilderness in the shadow of these spirited animals.
Cost: $85

February 22-24 – Snow Camping
Register by: February 15

Don’t let your camping season end when the leaves fall off the trees! For the hearty souls that don't mind a little ice and snow, go for it and enjoy the experience.

March 9 – Mountain Biking
Register by: March 2

Colorado provides some of the best mountain biking opportunities in the USA. From high mountain peaks to beautiful river valleys, single tracks to back country roads, there are opportunities for all ages and skill levels.
Cost: $30 (Includes bike rental) or $5 (If you use your own bike)

March 15 – Hot Springs Trip
Register by: March 8

Enjoy one of Colorado's many natural Hot Springs—you can soak in the therapy pool, swim laps, or cool off in the deep end.
Cost: $25

April 5 – Paintball
Register by: April 2

Come in teams or come alone for a paintball extravaganza. Gun, gear, Co2, and transportation included.
Cost: $10

April 12 – Caving
Register by: April 5

You've hiked up the Rockies and stood upon their sunlit summits. But there's an equally fascinating view from the inside. Enjoy scrambling over rocks and navigating your way through one of Colorado's many caves.
Cost: $10

April 26 – Sky Diving
Register by: April 19

Why should the birds have all the fun? If being a mile high isn't enough for you, get sky-high in Colorado while freefalling at speeds of up to 100 mph and enjoy breathtaking views during your canopy ride.
Cost: $200 (Register with a friend and save $15. Refunds will be provided by Student Activities.)

* Trips change yearly based on student guide interest and expertise. Costs usually include transportation and at least one meal. In the case of overnight trips, the cost includes meals on the trip and lodging for the night.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Upon online registration for a Best of Colorado trip, you acknowledge the following refund policy. Refunds will be granted on a case per case basis. Each trip is different and requires different deposits, etc. If the University has paid out deposits and cannot receive a refund the student will not receive a refund if he/she cancels. The University will strive to make refunds when possible. In all cases, at least a 10% administration fee will be kept if a refund is requested. If the trip is cancelled by the University, full refunds will be given.
