James Aaron Hunt of Fairmount, North Carolina awarded $5,000 tuition scholarship from CCU and K-LOVE Christian Radio

May 31, 2011 – James Aaron Hunt, assistant principal at Fairmount High School in Fairmount, North Carolina just learned that he’s been awarded a $5,000 scholarship to enroll in courses through Colorado Christian University’s (CCU) College of Adult and Graduate Studies.

Hunt won the random drawing scholarship in the spring 2011 K-LOVE and CCU Scholarship Contest. More than 4,500 K-LOVE listeners entered the contest that aired between May 9 and May 15.

He said he first heard of Colorado Christian University at a Christian concert last year and said he often listens to K-LOVE’s broadcast streaming live on his computer.

Hunt said, “I can’t help but believe that the $5,000 scholarship is yet another indication of the plans God has for my life.”

While CCU’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies includes associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in business and technology, education, nursing and sciences, social sciences and humanities, biblical studies and applied ministry, Hunt said he’s considering using the scholarship to enroll in biblical studies.

Hunt was recently named Fairmount’s assistant principal after serving four years as Purnell Swett High School’s athletic director. He said, “I felt led to this position by the Holy Spirit and stepped out in faith to pursue this new responsibility where I have an opportunity daily to impact young lives.”

He and his wife April, a guidance counselor, have two sons: Brett, a junior at North Carolina State University, and Noah, who is in seventh grade. They attend Mt. Airy Baptist Church and St. Anna Free Will Baptist Church in Pembroke.

Located in Rocklin, Calif., K-LOVE (www.klove.com) is a nonprofit radio network governed by the Educational Media Foundation.
