If you are an adult student in need of financial assistance for tuition and related expenses, Colorado Christian University has a scholarship opportunity you may be interested to help you begin a degree program at CCU. Executive Women International (EWI) was founded in California in 1938 to recognize the importance of women in the business community. EWI’s vision is to be the premier worldwide business women’s organization and promote members’ personal and professional development and encourage community involvement. Since its inception in the late 1930’s, EWI has formed chapters in cities in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe and now celebrates women in a variety of careers throughout the world.
Colorado Christian University would like to announce an exciting financial assistance opportunity provided by the EWI ASIST (Adult Students in Scholastic Transition) Scholarship Fund, which helps non-traditional adult students in a “transitional” time in their lives. Through educational support and mentoring, adult students are better able to face the challenges that accompany returning to college after spending time in the workforce and/or at home raising children. The ASIST scholarship, in the past, has been awarded to adult students who have experienced difficult life experiences such as the death of a spouse, divorce and/or financial hardship. Selection criteria varies but typically involves financial need; social, physical and economic challenges; and adults facing a displaced household with small children. Funds awarded by EWI ASIST go directly to the institution of higher learning they attend in their name.
The ASIST Scholarship Fund is made possible through a variety of fund-raising activities by the organization and various committees such as the Ways & Means Committee, but the primary fundraiser for this scholarship is an annual golf tournament sponsored by Executive Women International.
