Online Certificate Programs at CCU

Online Certificate ProgramsOnline certificate programs are becoming hugely popular at colleges and universities across the United States because they help prepare students for the development of key competencies in a very specific subject area. At Colorado Christian University, undergraduate online certificate programs require 12 credit hours of specific subject area courses; the certificate provides students with college credits that can be applied to a bachelor’s degree from CCU.

Here is a brief description of each of the online certificate programs offered at CCU:

Accounting Certificate: Topics of study include corporate accounting, financial statements, budgeting and tax accounting.  The Accounting Certificate can be used to supplement a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems Management or Organizational Management or as a stand-alone program.

Biblical Studies Certificate: Topics include Bible interpretation, ancient Israel’s history and literature, and early Christian literature. The Biblical Studies certificate is also available as a stand-alone program or can be used to supplement a bachelor’s degree.

Criminal Justice Certificate: Topics studied include intro to criminal justice, juvenile justice, criminology and policing. CJ certificate coursework can be taken online or in the classroom. This certificate program can be used to supplement an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Business Administration, or Information Systems Management. The Criminal Justice certificate can also be taken as a stand-alone program.

Entrepreneurship Certificate: Students of this certificate program will study topics such as starting and running a business, entrepreneurship as a mission and entrepreneurial growth. Available as a stand-alone program or as a supplement toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems Management or Organizational Management.

Ethics Certificate: Topics include 21st century business ethics, world views, Christian apologetics and personal/social ethics. This certificate can be taken as a stand-alone program or as a supplement to a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or Organizational Management.

Project Management Certificate: Students will study topics including the fundamentals of project management, project planning, risk management, scheduling and controlling and strategic project management. As is true with all other certificate programs, this, too, can be taken as a stand-alone program or as a supplement to a Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems Management or Organizational Management. CCU has been reviewed and approved as a provider of project management training by the Project Management Institute (PMI). PMI is the world’s leading not-for-profit membership association for the project management profession with more than 600,000 members in over 185 countries.

CCU online certificate programs are designed for professionals who want to improve their performance and prepare for some type of industry certification.
