Colorado Christian University is proud to dedicate the first building in Phase One of our Faith, Family, Freedom Campaign– designed to redevelop our main Lakewood campus into a competitive, state-of-the-art learning facility.
For the past 100 years, CCU Lakewood has upheld these three values of faith, freedom, and family that are vital to our Christian faith, and we will continue to do so with our strategic vision for the campus redevelopment that will prepare us for the next 100 years.
With this goal in mind, Phase One of the campaign construction includes a 3-story academic building that spans 43,000 feet. In addition to 10 classroom spaces and four seminar rooms, this building will accommodate the university community by offering the following amenities:
- a multi-purpose hall on the first floor
- a grab-and-go food service area
- four study rooms
- casual seating throughout for study and interaction
- faculty and staff offices and conference room
The common meeting areas, in particular, will provide students the opportunity to mingle with their classmates as well as faculty, offering ample conversation space.
As the website for our Phase One campaign academic building specifies, the most noticeable feature in this building will be the cross above the fireplace to which all floors open. It’s beauty will “serve as a reminder that Christ is at the center of our lives.”
This campaign, which is anticipated to be completed in 2014, will provide our growing campus with the facilities and the technology necessary for academic achievement in the 21st century.
In his letter to the CCU community, President Armstrong emphasizes that we must thank God “with great exuberance and pray that we will be worthy of the opportunity He has entrusted to us.”
With this in mind, we are excited to further grow the legacy of CCU Lakewood as a leader in higher education devoted to serving Christ.
