Each year, the Colorado Christian University’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) holds a weekend celebration to honor its past and present students. Since faith and family is of great importance to every one of our students, the celebration is also open to parents, family members, and close friends who wish to attend. This February, the CAGS Alumni and Family Weekend 2014 will take place on the CCU Lakewood Campus from Thursday the 6th through Saturday the 8th. Here’s a quick summary of the events set to take place over this very special weekend.
Weekend festivities will kick off with an alumni and family prayer breakfast to take place at the Dining Annex from 9 am to 10:30 am Church services will follow the breakfast, from 10:50 am to 11:50 am at the campus Event Center. Afterward, campus tours will be held for visiting family and friends, to be followed by lunch in the Cafeteria between 12:30 am and 1:30 pm Those interested in taking in the sights of surrounding Denver will have a window of opportunity to do so following lunch – however, be sure to get back to campus by 6 pm for the chance to catch a live performance by the award winning Christian music duo Shane & Shane, live at the Event Center. Kick off day two of the alumni and family weekend by taking in more nearby sights, including Downtown Denver and other points of interest, including the Garden of the Gods nature center. At 4 pm we invite everyone back to campus to join Dr. Phil Mitchell at Beckman 202/210 for “Theological Foundations for CCU’s Strategic Objectives.” We will wrap up the day with a night of karaoke, bingo, board games, and good ol’ fashioned family fun!
On Saturday morning, head over to the Event Tent at 9 am for a pancake breakfast. Immediately following, all are invited to attend Dr. Chris Leland’s inspirational seminar “The Call: Hearing, Understanding, and Following God’s Plans for Your Life (No Matter the Season of Life You Might Find Yourself In…)” which will take place from 10:45 am to 12:15 pm at Beckman 202/210. Following the alumni and family President’s Reception from 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm, we’ll finish the weekend off in grand fashion with a combination barbeque and basketball game.
As in years past, the CAGS Alumni and Family Weekend serves to demonstrate the Colorado Christian University’s appreciation for the students and student family members who have helped make the College of Adult and Graduate Studies one of the most successful educational programs in the country.
