On Veterans Day 2014, our national community is reminded to celebrate those that have devoted their lives to service.
We offer our prayers, commemoration and support to those individuals that have experienced the field, and to those presently on duty. In honor of our Nation’s Heroes, Colorado Christian University offers a plethora of resources to help service members and their dependents reach their educational goals.
Helping Veterans and Their Families
CCU is devoted to providing veterans, dependents of active duty military and veterans, and future military leaders with faith-based education. Firstly, CCU’s online academic programs allow education to become more obtainable for active military members.
“I thank my family for their support. It’s not easy to have a family member that’s going to school full time and working full time,” said Master Sergeant Ben Seidl, who thanked CCU for offering online classes, which enabled him to complete his bachelor’s degree while on deployment in Kabul, Afghanistan.
“I have great kids—they’re both straight ‘A’ students—but they need to know that you need to keep learning your entire life. I wanted to show them that no matter what happens, no matter how busy you are, you need to continue going to school and continue learning,” shared Master Sergeant Seidl.
Adult and Graduate Studies
CCU’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies—which offers accelerated graduate and undergraduate degrees—fosters a supportive environment in which adult military members can succeed.
Adult students may be employed full-time, fulfilling various work shifts, and may need to move or experience deployment. From start to end, we are committed to helping throughout the process.
In addition to online courses, to make education more accessible CCU collaborates with base education services personal to create flexible programs throughout Colorado and Wyoming. Those locations include the United States Air Force Academy, Schriever AFB, Peterson AFB, Fort Carson, FE Warren AFB, and Buckley AFB.
Financial Assistance and Dual-Credit
CCU is also offers several options for military-focused financial aid such as a reduced tuition rate for military service members and their adult dependents, as well as GI Bill education benefits and Army and Air Force ROTC program scholarships. Students may also dually earn undergraduate credit for formal education experiences, such as Basic Training, while they serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.
