We are all leaders in the continuous renewal for God. Many people out there believe and think leadership is obtain through the position we hold or the title in our jobs or the roles we have with in society that gives us the authority to act as a leader (i.e. Manager, CEO, Governor, Mayor, Representative). It is a general preconception that in order to achieve the authority to implement positive change, as leaders do, one needs to climb the corporate ladder or hierarchical structure to have the authority to do so. For example, we all have worked for companies where our bosses or top management within the corporation have conducted business unethically. Naturally, the thought process and assumption is that we have to first climb the corporate ladder, get promoted as a Manager, then we would have the authority make positive changes. Although these structures are in place for numerous and obvious reasons — this should not stop one from standing up for illegal or unethical business practices, or stop one from finding different avenues and presenting better solutions. Many times it is intimidating to speak up and present these ideas to persons that have achieve more established titles like CEO, or Director of Public Relations as an example. Like the story of Moses sometimes God calls us to do things that are outside our comfort zone to fulfill His perfect will. Philippians 4:13 “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength” (NIV).
As Christians, it is the authority within us — the Holy Spirit that allows us all to become leaders for God’s will for touching individuals, families, business places, cultures, governments and list goes on and on. Jesus shows is the way, truth and the light that shows how we can be vessels. John 14:26 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (NIV). It is the walk by faith and believing that the Holy Spirit is with us in building our personal relationship that gives us all the strength we need to stand firm. John 14:17 “the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you” (NIV). As children of God we can not begin to fathom how truly powerful and beautiful this gift of the Holy Spirit is within us. God has a plan for us — and in a big way that transcends our understanding. God works in all things regardless of our worldly titles in the jobs or roles we hold – we can all stand up as leaders in Christ to make an impact on this world for the will of God. The personal relationship with God in our daily walk to continue to grown in Christ allows to free us from the things that in the past may have weighed us down — as we become more like Jesus the Holy Spirit can move within in us to fulfill God’s will and purpose with GRACE. Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will” (NIV). As leaders today it is the daily renewal of our minds seeking a closer connection with Christ that allows God to work through us to lead for His glory and perfect will.
