It is always a good idea to tell the truth!  The Bible says that “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:haughty eyes, a lying tongue…” Proverbs 6:16-17 (NIV).  As a Christian, fear alone would prevent the desire to partake in anything that is detestable to God.  We can choose to live for those around us and try to fit in this world, or we can live for a God that can make anything happen for us in this world and give us eternal life.  In looking at the idea of this in regards to a “Whistleblower”, it may seem that one is not being a team player if they are a “Whistleblower”.  When, in fact, a “Whistleblower” can be a team player.  The Bible states “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them” 1 John 2:15 (NIV).  When we choose God over the world or worldly things, we will be blessed. There was a situation when working in hotel management, where a corporate manager was told by her manager to lie about pricing to a customer or resign.  The next day a resignation took place.  Surprisingly enough, within the month, almost the whole team of managers quit because of the situation.  Within about 3 months the manager that told the corporate manager to lie, was fired.  All of the managers that quit (including the corporate manager), found better jobs that were more enjoyable with a better work environment.  A moral can be seen, that because the corporate manager was faithful to God and did what was right in His eyes, He was faithful to her and everyone that supported her in the team.  When being a team player, it is always good to make sure that the team that one is playing on, is God’s team.
