Members of CCU's Board of Trustees discuss why they support the University – and our students – through charitable giving.
“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25
Generous gifts will continue to support our University as we continue in our pursuit to become one of the finest Christian institutions of higher learning; as we strive to provide young adults with an exemplary education; and as we prepare them to honor Christ by sharing His love around the world.
The opportunity to support Colorado Christian University and the Faith | Family | Freedom Campaign presents itself in numerous shapes and sizes. As part of the campaign, CCU has already received gifts of stock, real estate, IRA distributions, shares in a limited partnership, and several charitable gift annuities.
We would love for you to join us in our campaign. If you have questions about any of these creative ways to support Colorado Christian University, call us at 800.44.FAITH or directly at 303-963-3330.
Colorado Christian University’s Lakewood campus has recently received designation by the state of Colorado as an “Enterprise Zone.” This program provides an exceptional opportunity for our friends and supporters!
As an Enterprise Zone any tax-deductible, cash gift (between $250 and $400,000) given to Colorado Christian University and designated to our Campus Development Project, will receive a 25% tax CREDIT for Colorado state income tax purposes, along with standard state and federal tax deductions.
The only project at CCU that qualifies for Enterprise Zone tax credits is our Campus Development Project.
Let’s say that you intend to give to CCU for our Campus Development. For every dollar you give, it will only cost you around 45¢ after tax savings.
In other words, based on the above assumptions, a cash donation could result in more than a “dollar-for-dollar match” from state and local tax savings! And, this formula works for all cash gifts between $250 and $400,000, based on the above assumptions.
Similar to tax deductions, if the entire tax CREDIT cannot be used in the tax year the gift is given, the amount remaining on the CREDIT can roll forward for up to five more years.
Any gifts other than cash (publicly traded securities, real estate, etc.) will receive a tax CREDIT on Colorado State income taxes of 12.5% of the amount of the gift. The value of a non-cash gift may not exceed $400,000—thus creating a maximum tax CREDIT amount of $50,000 for non-cash gifts.
If you have any questions regarding this program, or know anyone who might be interested in the program, please do not hesitate to call the Office of Development at 303-963-3330.
