4-5: Individually Designed Majors and Cooperative Programs

Designed majors must be approved by the faculty advisor, the Dean of the School where most credits will be taken and by the University Registrar. The proposal for a designed major must include a list of course requirements for the major and a rationale indicating why an existing major or combination of majors/minors cannot meet the educational objectives of the student. A designed major must have at least 36 credits but not more than 52 credits and must be based out of a major or majors offered at CCU. The proposal must include at least 12 credits from each of two academic departments, at least one-third of the courses must be 300 or 400 level courses, no more than 6 credits that are also used to meet general education requirements or the requirements of a double major, and no more than 6 credits of independent study.

To provide courses in disciplines not offered in the university curriculum, Colorado Christian University occasionally works in cooperation with other educational institutions. This enables students to gain experience not otherwise available to them while benefiting from the biblical studies and Christian environment offered to resident students.
