Colorado Christian University has established an Alternative Teacher Program as permitted by Colorado Revised Statutes (2260.5-R-18.00). This is a one-year program, designed in conjunction with public and private schools in Colorado for alternative teachers to be employed full time to teach, receive training, and to be supervised by a mentor teacher and a support team. The training shall include the equivalent of 225 clock hours of planned instruction and activities, including training in dropout prevention, to assist the alternative teacher to earn a provisional teaching license. This is the standard entry-level license in Colorado. Students who wish to pursue Alternative Licensure must have a completed Bachelor's Degree.
Alternative Licensure Program leads to a teaching license with 15 credits. Alternative Licensure coursework may be applied to a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

For students wishing to earn the Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction (MACI), an additional 19 credits of MACI coursework needs to be completed. Contact your academic advisor for additional information.
