5-4-5: Assessment/Testing

In order to maximize each student's potential for success and appropriate course placement, CCU tests all students in the College of Undergraduate Studies who do not have ACT or SAT scores.

Entry Testing (COMPASS) (College of Undergraduate Studies)

All first-time freshmen and transfer students with freshman standing who do not have an ACT or SAT score must take English and mathematics placement exams. Admitted students whose performance on these examinations fails to meet specified university standards may be required to take a remedial class. Students must pass these courses with a grade of C or better in order to qualify for enrollment in 100-level or higher mathematics or English courses.

Sophomore Testing (CAAP) (College of Undergraduate Studies)

During the spring semester, all students with sophomore standing are required to participate in the ACT-CAAP assessment.
