4-6-3: Computer Information Systems

The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in computer information systems is designed to provide professional training to apply the basic principles of computer information systems, systems analysis, and the theory and operation of the computer to program in selected languages; to analyze, evaluate, and design information-management systems; to manage information systems according to high ethical standards; to demonstrate the professional attitudes and skills required in a corporate environment; and to express Christian values in and through the effective use of technology. Opportunities for graduates encompass broad areas of business and industry as well as nonprofit institutions.

For Traditional Undergraduate Students (CUS), this Major is in addition to the full Business Administration Core. As such, the Computer Information Systems degree constitutes a double Major in Business and Computer Information Systems. The Computer Information Systems Major cannot be taken in isolation for Traditional Undergraduate Students (CUS).

Note: MAT 130 Introduction to Statistics to be taken in place of MAT 110. Foreign language is not required but is recommended.

4-6-6: Computer Information Systems Minor

The Computer Information Systems minor emphasizes programming methods, web tools, database management and networking structures. Integrated information systems technology is enhanced with management principles. The CIS minor offers computer expertise to round out business and management majors.
