It also provides a keyboard laboratory with full 88-key keyboards. Practice and performance facilities feature a 9-foot concert grand piano.
The School of Music offers opportunities to tour with performing groups, access to on- and off-campus production studios, computer-assisted instruction, an emphasis on Christian ministry, and personal attention from an exceptional, creative, and caring faculty. Non-music majors may take a range of courses to enhance their understanding of a wide variety of music and may participate in ensembles-from playing electric bass in jazz band to singing a Bach motet in the University Choir.
Students who desire to major or minor in music must be accepted at the university and must complete a personal audition on their primary instrument or voice for the music faculty. This audition serves both for preliminary acceptance into the School of Music and for music scholarship consideration. Priority scholarship consideration is given to students auditioning before February 28 of each year. Courses in music theory taken at another institution are not normally transferred until the student meets music theory requirements at CCU. For formal admission to any music major at the end of the sophomore year, students must meet the following requirements:
General education requirements for Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music vary slightly. Please follow the general education requirements listed under each of these specific programs.
