Students who earn a major in theology will be equipped to explore and reflect on Christian doctrine and doctrinal development, and to bring evangelical theology to bear on issues of critical concern. Students in the major will develop abilities and virtues that enhance personal and professional life and that provide a foundation for further study at a seminary or graduate school.
The Bachelor of Arts in Theology requires completion of at least 128 semester hours, including all general education requirements, a minor or electives in a field of interest, and the following major courses:

THE 215 Philosophy and Sociology of

THE 302 Evangelical Theology (3)
THE 306 Communication for Ministry (3)

THE 311 Historical Theology II (3)
THE 403 Contemporary Approaches to Theology

Six hours selected from upper- division philosophy or theology courses with the approval of the major coordinator.
Six hours selected from upper-division biblical studies or youth ministry courses with the approval of the major coordinator.
Students in the major must take Greek, Hebrew, or Latin to fulfill the language requirement in the general education curriculum.
Students may earn a minor in the field by completing the following 18 hours and any required prerequisites:

Six semester hours of upper-division coursework in Theology or Philosophy, selected with the written pre-approval of the department chairperson.
