GI Bill Payments and Tuition

  • GI Bill payments are made each month based on the student’s enrollment status for the month. Typically, the money is available within four to seven business days following the end of the calendar month. Payments are made directly to the student, so a direct deposit arrangement with Veterans Affairs is highly encouraged. To set up or change direct deposit information, please call 877-838-2778.
  • Since tuition payments are due at the time of registration and GI Bill payments are received on a monthly basis throughout the semester, CCU has made available a Third Party Deferred Payment Option to allow GI Bill students to defer payment of their tuition until after the end of the current semester. Most students receiving GI Bill benefits elect to participate in this plan.
  • Additionally, students receiving GI Bill benefits are encouraged to apply for financial aid through CCU.
  • Veterans Affairs administers education benefits using both a “traditional” semester program and a “non-traditional” semester program. Under the “traditional” semester, a student must be enrolled in 12 semester hours to obtain the “full-time” monthly rate. The rules for the “non-traditional” semester (which apply to degree programs in CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies) are quite complicated. Each class, not the student, is assigned a status (i.e., full time, 3/4 time, 1/2 time, etc.). Therefore, a student can qualify for the “full-time” rate by taking just one full-time accelerated class. Payments for CAGS students are directly dependent upon the start and end dates of each class. If you are enrolled in one of CCU’s CAGS degree programs, please contact Service Central at 303-963-3230 or VASupport@ccu.edu if you need more information about how your benefits will be calculated.
