Minimum Computer Configurations

Colorado Christian University’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies utilizes technology in all classroom-based and online courses. Therefore, it is required that all students have a computer (desktop or laptop) or have direct access to one. The computer will be used (but not limited) to access online content, perform Web research, type papers, and utilize e-mail communications. All students will be expected to have an e-mail address to which professors and administration may send important information. To sign up for a free e-mail address (if you do not already have one) you may use Hotmail, Yahoo, or another e-mail service of your choice.

Recommended Hardware Configuration

Most computers less than three years old which are adequate for Internet browsing, e-mail, and word processing will suffice.

Required and Recommended Software Configuration

The following software configuration is required or recommended for any student attending CCU’s Adult undergraduate or graduate programs (in the classroom or online):

  • Microsoft Office is recommended and may be purchased from the University at a discounted rate. Any word processor that allows you to save in “.doc” format will be sufficient and is required.
  • Windows 98 or higher (or Mac equivalent) is required.
  • Internet Explorer or Netscape is required.
  • An Internet Service Provider (ISP) is required for Internet access. Examples include:
    • AOL
    • MSN
    • Comcast
    • Qwest DSL (or equivalent DSL service)
    • Netzero
  • An e-mail address is required.
  • Below are examples of recommended software programs.
