Accounting

Minor

The accounting minor compliments the business and accounting majors. The program gives students a foundation of knowledge in corporate financial accounting, financial reporting, and how to use financial information in business. Topics of study include the accounting cycle, recording and summarizing transactions, financial statements, and generally accepted accounting principles. Students are also introduced to managerial accounting and computer applications specific to the accounting industry.

Program Benefits

  • The accounting curriculum emphasizes the development of values-based decision-making skills that make students a valuable asset in the workforce.
  • A concentrated course of study in a minor compliments a bachelor’s degree and further enhances career options.
  • The flexibility of adding a minor to a major degree allows students to build and customize a degree that is most useful for them.
