Associate of Arts Degree (A.A.)

The Associate of Arts degree combines general education and elective courses, preparing students to earn a bachelor’s degree that can create a solid foundation for career opportunities and advancement. Students gain a broad foundation of knowledge that covers every aspect of general education, including communications, humanities, history, behavioral and social sciences, biblical studies, mathematics, natural science, and computer science. For many students, the Associate of Arts is the first step toward completing a bachelor’s degree.

  • Depending upon how many hours are taken each semester, it is possible for a student with no previous college courses to complete their associate's degree in as little as 18 months.
  • Students can transfer up to 30 credit hours from another accredited institution.

  • Students can attend evening and weekend classes.

Required Courses

The Associate of Arts degree requires a total of 60 credit hours for graduation, which includes 45 credit hours of general education and 15 semester hours of elective credit.
