    Alternative Teacher Licensing Program

Colorado Christian University is authorized by the Colorado Department of Education to provide an Alternative Teacher Licensing Program. The Alternative Licensing Program is a one-year teacher licensure program designed by the Colorado Department of Education and Colorado Christian University to support those individuals who desire to become licensed teachers through an alternative teacher licensing path. Alternative teachers are employed as full-time teachers, while they receive training to become a licensed teacher.

The Alternative Licensing Program offered through CCU’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies equips students to impact the next generation of learners. Through our alternative teaching licensing program, students gain knowledge in educational theory that supports them as they work in their educational environment. This helps students develop competencies that enable them to become effective teachers in both public and private schools.

Taught from a Christian worldview, all of CCU’s education programs develop educators who are dedicated to addressing diverse learner needs with excellence through servant-leadership in their field and in society. Small class sizes encourage individualized learning and networking, and allow students direct access to professors who are also professionals in the field. Students graduate with the skills, experience, and credentials necessary to become licensed to teach in Colorado through our alternative teaching licensing program.
