Post-9/11 GI Bill Payments for Adult and Graduate Students
Post-9/11 GI Bill tuition and fees benefits are paid directly to CCU.
Books/Supplies and Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) benefits are paid directly to the student.
Post-9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon tuition and fees payments will be set up as a scholarship from the VA and (in the case of the Yellow Ribbon match) from CCU. In other words, once students have established their eligibility under the Post-9/11 GI Bill and have registered for classes, CCU award the Post-9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon scholarship amounts to the students' accounts. Any remaining balances due will be the student's responsibility.
Students eligible for Pell Grant and College Opportunity Fund (COF) will be awarded these grants before any VA funding in applied.
Each semester CCU will certify courses after the add/drop period unless the student opts to lock-in registration before the add/drop period. In this situation, CCU will certify and lock-in the student's registration for that semester, and the student's registration cannot be changed after certification has taken place.
Montgomery GI Bill Payments for Adult and Graduate Students
GI Bill payments are made each month based on the student's enrollment status for the month. Typically, the money is available within four to seven business days following the end of the calendar month. Payments are made directly to the student, so a direct deposit arrangement with Veterans Affairs is highly encouraged. To set up or change direct deposit information, please call 877-838-2778.
Since tuition payments are due at the time of registration and GI Bill payments are received on a monthly basis throughout the semester, CCU has made available a Third Party Deferred Payment Option to allow GI Bill students to defer payment of their tuition until after the end of the current semester. Most students receiving GI Bill benefits elect to participate in this plan.
Veterans Affairs administers education benefits using both a "traditional" semester program and a "non-traditional" semester program. The rules for CCU's College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS) programs are considered non-traditional. Payments for CAGS students are directly dependent upon the start and end dates of each class. If you are enrolled in one of CCU's CAGS degree programs, please contact Service Central at 303-963-3230 or VASupport@ccu.edu if you need more information about how your benefits will be calculated.
Students who receive GI Bill benefits may also be eligible to receive Federal financial aid. Financial aid eligibility can be determined by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
