BSN Admission Requirements
Admission Information
The application process for admission to CCU's BSN program is competitive. Each applicant is assigned an enrollment counselor to assist with the process of admission into the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS). Students work with their Student Service Advisor in submitting admission documents for application to the nursing program. The applicant must meet specific requirements at each step of the admission process in order to progress and be admitted to the program.
Students enter the BSN Program once annually. Applications are processed and evaluated for annual admission.
Class size is limited. Admission into the College of Adult and Graduate Studies does NOT guarantee admission into the nursing program. To be considered for admission, students must have:

A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher;

A minimum biological science GPA of 2.5 or higher;

A minimum grade of C or higher in all prerequisite courses;

A minimum TEAS overall score of 41% or higher and a science TEAS score of 33.3% or higher;
- Be Fit for Practice. Download and complete the Fit for Practice form (PDF);
- If English is not your native /first language, a TOEFL score of 550 or higher.
Admission Application
The first step in the admission process is to submit your online application for admission to CCU’s College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS). Submit proof of identity and all official college transcripts for CAGS admission. Once your application is complete and you are admitted to CAGS, submit documents for BSN program admission to:

Testing and Interview Requirements
In addition to submitting Admission documents to CCU Service Central, please complete the following:

TEAS Test: Take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam. Complete this exam at any CCU Center testing site or through any official testing site statewide. Fees apply. This is a proctored exam. Download and read the ATI Test Instruction Letter. Schedule your test by contacting a CCU Center Administrator. Visit the ATI Testing Web site to set up your ATI profile (create an account), pay for the test, and take the TEAS exam.

Interview: Schedule an Interview with the Nursing Program Faculty. Contact your Student Service Advisor for a date and time. During the interview, you will be required to write a brief (one page) essay response to a scenario that is relevant to healthcare and nursing.
Additional Requirements
After an applicant has received a letter from the Dean of Nursing offering them provisional admission into the Nursing Program, they must complete the background check requirements, the drug screening requirements, and submit the documents for "Immunization Trackers – CCU Nursing Tracking System" online through Certified Background. Use student package order code CG83. Fees apply. Annual updates are required.

Background Check and Drug Screening: Complete and clear the drug screening and background check online through Certified Background. Enter student package order code CG83. The background check must be completed no more than six months prior to the start of nursing courses. Be sure to review the list of disqualifying offenses on the Certified Background site. All expenses related to background checks are the responsibility of the student. Annual fees apply. The following document is processed through Certified Background:

Immunization Trackers – CCU Nursing Tracking System: Visit the Certified Background Web site to start the process for submitting your immunization and other required documents. Enter student package order code CG83. All expenses for admissions documentation are the responsibility of the student. Annual fees apply.
