Salon’s left-wing media ideal would muzzle free speech

Liberty-shredding impulses reign in some news outlets, such as Salon that is forever taking great leaps leftward and recently did so in a book excerpt. It spoke of the wonderful news future you’d get if corporations as we have known them went away, socialism took over and no one had to put up any longer with the likes of Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, CNN or The New York Times. Skiing down the slippery slope of climate change

More than 100 ski areas in the United States signed a Climate Declaration last year, demanding federal government action to avert “catastrophic” human-induced climate change. Instead of cooling the planet, such an approach is likely to create a real anthropogenic problem for ski resorts: Few people will be left with discretionary income to buy lift tickets. Wall Street’s binge, Main Street’s hangover

(BOSTON) – Technically the “Great Recession” ended in June of 2009, but Gallup reports that 66 percent of Americans say it’s not over yet. Economists tell us the economy is starting to look good (manufacturing & housing starts, up; gasoline prices and unemployment, down) but 68 percent of the people tell pollsters the economy is bad, and 67 percent say the country is on the “wrong track.” Continue reading
