(’76 Contributor) Ignoring constituent concerns about the constitutionality of the federal government controlling healthcare did not work. Citing Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution held no water. Claiming that he has “not heard legal scholars suggest the health reform bill is unconstitutional” is not even close to believable. So what did my congressman, Peter Welch (D-VT), do to justify his vote for the House healthcare bill?
