    2014 Western Conservative Summit: America at Its Best

    High school juniors and seniors attend free!

    Downtown Denver Hyatt Regency: July 18-20, 2014

    The West’s premiere gathering of leaders in policy, culture and American enterprise. Students will meet and hear from high profile officials, influencers and media personalities. Small group discussions will zero in on current issues of the day in the context of expert presentations.

    Every student will learn how our government works, increase their grasp of history and understand America’s economic engine. Ideas and materials presented at the Summit will add value to school assignments, college applications, discussion and debates. For Shining City Scholars, the meals will be provided, as well as a couple of dynamic social gatherings.

    If you know a bright high school student, urge them to apply!

    A regular registration including meals, materials and all sessions sells for $475. The Scholarship program enables select high school students to attend at no cost.

    Guidelines and Overview for the Shining City Scholarship

    The Shining City Scholarship students will check in at the Western Conservative Summit with the student coordinator and will be expected to stay and participate in all summit events and discussion groups.

    Schedule and Times:

    • Friday afternoon, scholars will need to check in between 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency and will have a Shining City Scholars orientation at 4:30 p.m. Scholars will have a dinner provided before the program at Bellco Theater that night. Event will end and scholars will be able to be picked up at 10:30 p.m.
    • Saturday morning, check in will be at 8:45 a.m. Attendance is required for the entire day and all programs. Students will be ready for pickup at the Bellco at 9:30 p.m. Meals provided.
    • Sunday morning, check in is at 8:45 a.m., the program will conclude by 1:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency.

    Transportation and lodging will not be provided. Families are responsible for student’s transportation and lodging. If your scholar wishes to stay downtown at the hotel, parents are responsible for their arrangements and overnight supervision. Parents of Shining City Scholarship qualify for the Patriot Pass discount tickets. Discounted hotel reservations available at (888) 421-1442.

    Students are expected to be attentive and dress business casual while in attendance at the summit.

    The Shining City Scholarship students will complete a brief assignment at the end about their experience while at the Summit and what they learned and can take away from their experience. Scholars will receive a certificate from Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University verifying their successful completion of the program and weekend.
