With test scores flat while U.S. spending per pupil was tripled since 1970, with American kids performing worse than students in two or three dozen other countries, some argue that we need uniform national standards and content, the so-called Common Core.
Others warn that the Common Core will only hinder learning performance while centralizing control and politicizing the curriculum. Among them is Prof. Sandra Stotsky of the University of Arkansas, who will speak on Tuesday, January 28, as a guest of Americans for Prosperity, Centennial Institute, and the CCU School of Education.
Admission is free and all are welcome, but reservations are required. Complete the RSVP form below or call 303-963-3424 to reserve your space. The Beckman Center is located near the Garrison Street entrance to Colorado Christian University.
