Deferred Payment Plan

Initial Semester Deferred Payment Plan

Incoming adult undergraduate students in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies whose first enrollment is in block three with registration of less than 6 credit hours are ineligible for Direct Stafford Loan funds for that term. Students who start in block three with less than 6 credit hours are eligible for a special payment plan to defer the cost of their enrollment in the current term.

Under the terms of this special deferred payment plan, students may use any credit balance resulting from Direct Stafford Loans disbursed in the subsequent term to cover the current term balance. Students will not incur finance fees and the current semester balance will not be due until the following semester’s financial aid is disbursed to the student’s CCU account.

The deferred payment plan is contingent on the following:

  • Students complete federal financial aid arrangements, with pending financial aid for the current term and subsequent term.
  • Undergraduate students register for at least 6 credit hours in the following term, making them eligible for financial aid in that term.
  • Eligible students will be sent instructions to the Initial Semester Deferred Payment Plan e-form, which they will complete and sign online.

Students agree to the future financial aid refund rolling back to the current term balance. Any balance that may remain after future financial aid is rolled back is the responsibility of the student. If a class is dropped or added in the following term, or financial aid is adjusted, students are responsible for any unpaid balances.

Students eligible for the deferred payment plan are using financial aid disbursements in the future term to cover their current term balance. These future financial aid funds are not available for refunds or to cover CCU Bookstore purchases in the current term.

Students who do not meet the terms of the deferred payment plan agreement by the drop deadline of block three may be dropped from their class. Failure to follow through on the agreement by the start of the subsequent term may result in the student’s account placed on hold and subject to finance fees.
