Breakout Sessions

Prayer for Every Class – Kathy Johnson

Every aspect of education benefits from a foundation of prayer. As a school year ends and a new one begins we hold each student in our hearts. We pray for each student and for their families. Prayer is integral to classroom management, discipline, parent communication, conferences and daily routines.

Learning Goals as a Guide to Expectation and Prayer – Dr. Wayne Wolf

When do expectations motivate and when do they discourage? How do educators discern learner expectations while communicating instructional expectations? Participants will discuss the importance of the learning goals of students as a guide for prayer and effective instruction.

Using Christian Principles to Lead Your Team – Wm. Pat Chapin

Leadership is tough! Sometimes you have to discipline, disappoint, and possibly even fire an employee. Everyone second guesses you, and has an opinion about a decision you may or may not have made...and many times you can’t tell them the whole story due to confidentiality issues. Do you ever go home and feel like banging your head against the wall? This breakout will cover some basics tenets of leadership, and relate them to Christian principles. Whether you like it or not, they are watching you. It is said that everyone influences (good or bad) at least 250 people throughout your life. Take this opportunity to make a difference, and maybe even save a lost soul through your actions.

Starting a Moms in Prayer International Group (formerly Moms In Touch International) – Lou Ann James

Moms In Prayer International impacts children and schools worldwide for Christ by gathering mothers to pray for one hour each week: for children/grandchildren, teachers, schools, and administrators using a simple Four Step format. Lou Ann James is a Moms in Prayer leader who will guide you in this process.
