Colorado Christian University is approved for Veterans Affairs Educational Benefits provided by the Montgomery GI Bill and Post-9/11 GI Bill. All associate and bachelor degree programs in CCU's College of Undergraduate Studies are approved for payment of GI Bill education benefits. Applicants for admission to CCU who are applying for (or are already approved for) GI Bill eligibility, may seek assistance in using their benefits by contacting a VA Certifying Official at VASupport@ccu.edu.
Prior to using your GI Bill benefits, Veterans Affairs requires the completion of their application for education benefits. This application is referred to as VA FORM 22-1990. The paper-based application form is available on the Department of Veterans Affairs Web site, or it can be completed online at the Veterans Online Application (VONAPP) Web site. The online application is highly encouraged as it is processed quickly by Veterans Affairs. The result of a successful application is the receipt of a Certificate of Eligibility (COE), which outlines your benefits. Veterans Affairs will typically take 8-10 weeks to process a new application. In order to utilize your GI Bill Benefits at CCU you must submit a copy of your COE to VASupport@ccu.edu.
If you have already completed the applicable VA forms above to apply for benefits and submitted a copy of your COE to CCU, the next step is a process referred to as "enrollment certification." At CCU, the VA's Web-based application is used to quickly initiate your claim (which takes the place of VA FORM 22-1999).
All students receiving GI Bill benefits should be familiar with the information provided on the VA's GI Bill Web site. Students who are eligible for GI Bill benefits and who are also using military Tuition Assistance and Top-Up to cover the cost of their classes are encouraged to contact CCU early in the school year if they intend to incur tuition costs that exceed the annual military Tuition Assistance allotment of $4,500.
