On Tuesday, October 22, join Colorado Christian University's School of Music for a night of Gospel, Jazz and Funk with the Tyson Haynes Quartet. Enjoy arrangements of familiar hymns, jazz standards, and incredible grooves.
A native of Portland, Oregon, Tyson grew up playing the saxophone in the church. Since moving to Colorado, he has established himself as an active performer and educator throughout the region. After earning his Masters of Music degree in Jazz from the University of Northern Colorado, Tyson relocated to Denver. He is currently the saxophone instructor at CCU and also maintains a private saxophone studio. Tyson can be heard in a variety of different venues and groups including the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Buddy Rich Project, and his own quartet.
This recital will be held in the CCU Music Center and is free of charge for all attendees.
